morning exercises
We had 30 minutes or so to draw the people on the other side of the room facing us. As you can see, i didn't quite finish and wasnt sure if i wanted to just create the rest of her body or leave it like this.
This morning exercise is from a few weeks ago that i didn't post till now. We had 30 minutes to draw the contents of our bag. I loved drawing that umbrella!
sticks and cell phones
For this project, we had to draw close ups and different angles of a stick and our cell phone. First we did a page of 16 drawings for each one. then we did anther set of drawings with 64 on each page. Then we started combining our stick and phone drawings into a set of 32, then 16, then 8, and finally a set of 4 drawings on 18"x18" paper.

sketch assignment #3
For this weeks assignment, we had to do a contour of the Foust Building. I believe it's the oldest building on campus and looks very different from the other buildings. There are so many details on this building and without being able to use shading, it was difficult to make it look realistic. The angles on the towers were hard to get exact. Overall, I didn't love drawing this building but it gave me more experience of drawing what i see in front of me.

sketch assignment #2
Our second sketchbook assignment was all about blind contours. We had to pick 5 objects and draw them once without looking at our paper while drawing it, and a second time drawing it normal. Blind contour drawing is something i think is really fun. My results all turned out very abstract looking. I picked my drawing of a grill to post. Throughout this assignment, I learned that it is okay to not have a perfect looking blind contour. It should be far from perfect - thats what makes it interesting!
