Practicing with watercolors

This was the first time this year we experienced with watercolors and using them to enhance drawings. I really enjoyed this because I got to try out my new watercolor paints which was exciting! I tried to practice blending colors, remembering the light source, and the challenging job of mixing a color for the skin tone that looks okay!

Storytelling:Ccompositions

The point of this assignment was to practice with compositions. We had to find a layout in a magazine that worked well and use the layout in our own composition using the topic, "the first week back to school". I chose to include: buying all the expensive books for classes, setting the alarm to wake up early 5 days a week, redecorating my dorm room, and enjoying Starbucks Coffee on campus.

For this assignment, I had to pick 5 artifacts that are important to me. I chose my camera, house key, necklace from the beach, headphones, and a ring because they all make me happy and remind me of memories. I tried to make the layout balanced by having the necklace flow from one page to the next to also bring the two pages together in unity. I chose yellow to accent some of the objects. Yellow, to me, seems like a happy color, so I thought it was fitting.
